Detail Itinerary

Day 1

Arrive in Beijing

Your guide will meet you outside the baggage claim area at the Beijing Capital Airport with a welcome sign and then take you to your pre-booked hotel. The rest of the day you have free to explore this amazing city.

Day 2

Beijing

Today we explore the city of Beijing, starting with a visit to the largest city square in the world, Tiananmen Square. The square is one of the most beloved sites among Chinese citizens, and the flag raising and lowering ritual held at dawn and dusk is particularly popular, drawing in many spectators. Opposite the square is the magnificent Forbidden City, the former royal residence for the last five centuries. This is one of the most recognizable landmarks and cultural symbols in China. From the Forbidden City you will then visit the Summer Palace, which is a massive garden and was the summer resort for royal members during the imperial times. We finish the day by visiting the Beijing Zoo, where you will learn about our lovely pandas and other animals. (B)

Day 3

Beijing

We begin day 3 at the Temple of Heaven, which was where emperors of the Ming and Qing Dynasties performed ceremonies and rituals to pray for good harvests and blessings on the country. From there, you will be taken to the Mutianyu Great Wall, a less tourist-trodden part of the 1,400-year-old fortification system. You will get to view the picturesque scenery of this great wonder from the comfort of a cable car. Time has also been included in our schedule for you to climb the wall. Our day concludes with a stopover at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, before being taken back to your hotel. Once you freshen up, you will experience the delights of our very famous Kungfu show - Kungfu Pandas in our night time activity. (B)

Day 4

Beijing - Xian

After breakfast, you will hop on a rickshaw for a Hutong Tour. This is a tour through the local neighbourhood, with the opportunity to spend some time visiting a local family who will teach you about the art of paper-cuts and kite-making. From here you will be taken to the railway station to catch the high speed rail train to Xian, which takes approximately 5 hours, travelling through China's most beautiful countryside. Upon arriving at the Xian North Station, our tour guide will pick you up and escort you to the hotel. (B)

Day 5

Xian

Xian is the home of the world-renowned Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses. It is reputed as the largest underground military base in the world. After your tour, you and your family have the opportunity to learn how to make a small terra-cotta figure, with an experienced Chinese Teacher. Our transfer will take you back downtown after the class. (B)

Day 6

Xian-Chongqing

After breakfast at the hotel, you will have the opportunity to explore the ancient Xian City Wall, the oldest, largest and best-preserved wall in China, running 13.75km and enclosing the old capital. In the middle of the old block of Xian stands the Great Mosque, the oldest and biggest Islamic mosque in the country, deemed to have been built in the mid-7th century. Around the mosque is Muslim Street, which is bustling every day with loads of the most authentic fine eateries and souvenirs shops for you to explore. A great photo opportunity is at the nearby Bell Tower and Drum Tower Square. The day ends with you being transferred to Xian airport to take your flight to Chongqing. Your guide will meet you at the airport in Chongqing and take you to embark the luxurious Yangtze River cruise ship which departs at 21:30 pm. Once on board you will need to attend the Safety, Orientation and River Briefing presentation. (B)

Day 7

Yangtze River Cruise

Today you sail along the Yangtze River. Depending on the water level and conditions, the cruise will dock for you to explore the Fengdu Ghost City or Shibaozhai. The exciting Captain's Welcome Party will be held in the evening, where you can take part or just relax and enjoy the Chinese folk dancing and music performance. (B+L+D)
Scenic Spots: Fengdu Ghost City legend is that it is the final resting place for all souls in Chinese mythologies. The city is made up of a series of temples, shrines and monasteries all dedicated to the afterlife. Shibaozhai is a 56m tower leaning against the Yuyin Hill. The tower and the land around it have been isolated and encircled by a moat after the Three Gorges Dam project in 2003, rendering it a gargantuan bonsai besides the Yangtze.

Day 8

Yangtze River Cruise

We continue sailing pass the jaw-dropping views of the Qutang Gorge and Wu Gorge, till we disembark at the Small Three Gorges, also known as Lesser Three Gorges, consisting of Longmen, Bawu and Dicui Gorges. Or we head to Badong, where you will experience sailing in a small wooden boat on the magnificent Shennong Stream. Returning to the ship, we will then enter the western section of the Xiling Gorge. (B+L+D)

Day 9

Yichang - Shanghai

After breakfast, disembark at Maoping Pier of Yichang, then you will take a bus to join the shore excursion to the grandest hydroelectric project in the world, the Three Gorges Dam. Indulge yourself with a tour around the colossal dam and perhaps the phenomenal scene of millions of tons of water being discharged if it happens to be rain season. After the tour in late morning, the cruise will provide a shuttle bus transfer you to Yichang Three Gorges Tourism Center, you will be met by your guide there. Then be transferred to the airport for your flight towards Shanghai. Upon arrival, your guide will pick you up at Shanghai airport and transfer to the hotel. (B)

Note: Optional excursion is provided, disembark at Maoping Pier then board sightseeing-ferry sailing through TGP Ship's elevator to enjoy the tour of the Three Gorges Dam, which should be paid on board if you'd like to join in.

Day 10

Shanghai

Today will begin with a visit to the Shanghai Ocean Aquarium. From there we walk The Bund, the most prestigious and best-preserved demonstration of the glamour of old Shanghai. This also includes Nanjing Road, one of the busiest shopping districts in China. In the afternoon, you will visit the stunning Yuyuan Garden, and experience the local culture by strolling around the nearby Chenghuang Miao bazaars and New Spot (XinTianDi). (B)

Day 11

Depart from Shanghai

Today you head home, our guide will pick you up and take you to the Maglev train which will take you to the International Airport. (B)

Day 1

Arrive in Beijing
