Shanghai Museum

The Shanghai Museum is a massive repository for over 140,000 artefacts of ancient Chinese art, most depicting the colorful history and cultural backdrop of Shanghai. After the end of the Cultural Revolution, which had temporarily halted progress at the museum, the collections once more began to grow. As it’s considered one of China’s most important museums donations have come from government purchases, existing finds from archaeological digs and generous private contributions.
