5-Day Chengdu Tour

Following an enjoyable breakfast, the bustle of the city will be left behind as you are driven to the Leshan Giant Buddha. A boat ride takes you closer to the Buddha, carved from the sandstone cliff. You will then understand why the ancient Chinese took 90 years to finish the project. Details of the Buddha and legendary stories of the structure will be revealed by your guide.

Following a one hour drive, you will arrive at Mount Emei, famous for panoramic natural scenery as part of the Sichuan basin, as well as Buddhist culture. Rest at the mountain foot overnight and refresh for the next day’s exploration.

Continue to breathe the fresh air and follow your guide to explore Emei Mountain.
An excursion bus will take you to the cable car station, where a cable car will transport you up the mountain to the famous Wannian Monastery, where Puxian Pusa (Samantabhadra Bodhisattva) is worshipped. This brick shrine without beams, built 1600 years ago, is an engineering wonder. A walk down the mountain on foot offers an opportunity to enjoy the wonderful scenery on the way to the famous Baoguo Temple, the largest temple of Emei Mountain. Savor the tranquility walking through the old buildings in the fragrance of incense. Your Buddhism and natural beauty exploration tour concludes with a 2.5 hour drive back to the hotel in Chengdu.

An exciting day begins when our driver and guide pick you up from the hotel to travel to the Chengdu Research Base of Giant Pandas. There you will learn the origin and habits of these giant bears, see baby pandas at play in the infant area and delivery room and gain an insight into the daily life of these amazing creatures. Wonderful photo opportunities abound to record your unique experience with such rare animals.

Be further enchanted with a walk down Jinli Street. Savor 2,000 years of commerce in the market where you can try different kinds of Sichuan food and snacks, buy various local crafts and bargain like the locals.

Take a leisurely stroll exploring the Wangjiang Pavilion Park with its cluster of centuries old pavilions and memorials and wander the bamboo groves with a vast variety of species. Get a real taste of Chengdu style leisure when you relax in a teahouse with a cup of tea. At the end of the tour, you will be transferred back to the hotel.

Depending on the time of your departure from Chengdu you’ll have time to explore a little longer in the morning before checking out from your hotel. You will be transferred from the hotel to the airport or the train station for your next destination.
