Find out why a China tour with us is a unique travel experience

And create beautiful travel memories for a lifetime

If you’ve never taken a China tour, how do you decipher between all the options? With so many China tour operators, it’s difficult for western travelers to know who to trust.

The team at ChinaTours.com totally understands this dilemma. We get that it’s a long way to travel to China. We also appreciate that a China tour is often a once in a lifetime experience and you want your travel adventure to be truly memorable.

That’s why we do everything we can to make your China tour easy and enjoyable for you. From the initial enquiry through to follow up after your China vacation, we pay attention to every detail. Why? Because we’re committed to helping you create beautiful travel memories.

Curious and want to know more about the ChinaTours.com difference? Discover the secrets to creating a perfect China tour.

ChinaTours.com difference #1:
Hotel locations that save time and money

If there’s one thing you should know before traveling to China is it takes time to move about regardless of where you’re going. Particularly in busy cities like Beijing, Xian, and Shanghai, traveling in traffic can eat into precious tour time. It pays to know that accommodation out of the city will cost you – time, money and an experience of real China.

We understand you didn’t travel to China to spend time sitting in traffic. That’s why we select only four and five star hotels located within the inner city precinct and close to your tour’s sights. And what about after the day’s touring is over? There’s no need to stay locked up in your hotel room. Time to get out and get amongst it!

Traveling to Beijing? Our hotels, located close to Wangfujing, are the China equivalent of New York’s Manhattan precinct. Equally, Nanjing Road in Shanghai offers a similar experience. And it’s the same in all destinations we travel to. Combining ancient China, culture, street food, and contemporary shopping, western travelers have direct and easy access to create their own unique memories while on tour through perfectly located hotels.

ChinaTours.com difference #2:
Sensible flight times mean comfortable, easy travel – and more time to enjoy real China

There’s no doubt China is a big place. Distances between destinations can mean flights are necessary, but it shouldn’t mean you travel at ridiculous times to meet your China tour schedule.

The ChinaTours.com team knows its customers and we understand they really want to enjoy their China adventure.

That’s the reason we only schedule comfortable flight times, usually in the afternoon. While there’s a price difference for our flight selection, ChinaTours.com customers don’t suffer through pre-dawn departures or late night sorties that leave them tired and unable to enjoy their China holidays.

We want you to love your time on tour and be smiling in every photo!

ChinaTours.com difference #3:
Modern train travel is a new standard in China tours

Yes, China’s opened up to the world, but China’s opened up domestically too. How? With a growing network of the world’s biggest and best high speed train and station network. Providing the opportunity for international guests to see more of China, we make arrangements for our customers to experience these wonderful new trains while traveling with us. Feel the need for speed? You will when you sit back in first or second class comfort and take in the vast and ever-changing landscape that is China.

And in keeping with our commitment to taking care of every detail, your tour guide will help you navigate the vast train stations. You’ll be accompanied to the platform where your train leaves from, ensuring you board safely and easily. Although this means we must purchase a travel ticket for your guide (who won’t be boarding with you) due to China’s security arrangements, we love looking after our guests this way. We know our service is your travel memory and door-to-door care is just another way we create unique travel experiences for ChinaTours.com customers.

ChinaTours.com difference #4:
Travel with a guide and make a personal connection with real China

There are guides – and there are ChinaTours.com tour guides. For over a decade, we have sourced the very best tour guides in the business. Here’s why. We understand a China tour guide can make – or break – your travel experience with us. We also know there is nobody better than a knowledgeable, experienced, and enthusiastic local to share their city with you. Only a real ‘Beijinger’ can provide a window into the essence of the city. Only a real Shanghaier will be able to share from their experience as a local.

We search out people who genuinely care about and are proud of their city – and we pay extra to keep them as part of the ChinaTours.com team. We figure we must be doing something right because many guides have worked with us for over 10 years. When you travel with ChinaTours.com, you learn from people who love what they do and who want to share that enthusiasm with you.

ChinaTours.com difference #5:
Enjoy comfort and safety in our new coaches and cars

With a commitment to your comfort and safety on tour paramount for us, we carefully select travel partners who align with our values.

When traveling between sights, or to and from hotels, airports, and train stations, we engage the service of quality transport providers. All vehicles meet licensing and regulatory standards, are less than three years old, and we never use secondhand vehicles.

While a price differential is reflected in our vehicle selection, we value the safety and comfort of our customers while they’re traveling with us.

ChinaTours.com difference #6:
Tour itineraries designed with you in mind

The ChinaTours.com travel design team are travelers just like you. They want their tours to be more than a holiday – they want an experience. That’s why we design our tour itineraries with you in mind.

Every aspect of the tour from pick up to sights to when we finally see you off is carefully curated to create a beautiful travel memory.

We really do mean it when we say ChinaTours.com takes care of every detail. It’s our attention to every little thing and the service we provide which makes all the difference.

ChinaTours.com difference #7:
Shop like a local

We totally understand shopping for a memento from your travels is part of the total experience. However, we also understand nobody likes feeling they’re forced to shop in certain locations because it suits the tour guide or driver. We’re proud to say we have no commission-based shopping stops on our tours.

In destinations where shopping can be a unique and special experience, we like to keep it that way for our customers. That’s why we offer our guests the opportunity to explore and discover shopping that makes every city special. Our approach to shopping on tour is perfect for the traveler who values culture, experience, and beautiful travel memories. While touring with ChinaTours.com, you only need to ask your guide for assistance to find your very own travel treasure – and they’ll lead the way. Whether you want to visit the biggest shopping mall, tiniest bespoke artisan’s shop, or local markets, we’ll take you there. When you shop with us, there are no commissions, no cons, and no hidden costs. Just shopping on tour the way it should be.

ChinaTours.com difference #8:
Eat where and when you want

One of travel’s great joys is experiencing and savouring the local cuisine. In China, like it’s people, there is a rich and seemingly endless diversity of food choices. So why would we limit our customers to commission-based restaurant destinations? Especially when they can choose from local street food, your guide’s local favourite, or a five star exclusive restaurant?

Our tour price doesn’t include meals (apart from breakfasts and cruise meals) because we know wonderful, different, and interesting food is the stuff of travel memories. Whether you want to spend 2USD on a bowl of Xian noodles or pay premium prices for Beijing’s best Peking duck, we’ve got you covered. We can help with restaurant choices and menu selection. Your local guide in each tour destination will make it happen – you only need say “Let’s eat!”.

Tripadvisor score AMAZING holiday in Yunnan Province

May 2026 • Couples

This is our second China trip with China Tours. Thank you for organising such a fantastic trip Martha! Five stars experience in every way. We chose China Tours again for our trip to Yunnan, after we had a fabulous time in Beijing last year. It’s a 10-day tour which started in Kunming, and then we went to Dali, Lijiang, and Shangri-la. From the moment we were picked up at Kunming airport, getting local sim card, dropped off at the hotel and the places we visited, everything was smooth and we were really taken care of.
The hotels were all excellent with great services and extensive options of breakfast included. The drivers were excellent, especially Mrs. Li who drove us from Dali to Lijiang and to Shangri-la, the car was very comfortable and spacious. We had different guides in every city, they are all very friendly, helpful, and they have deep knowledge of all the places we visited. Especially our guide Caroline from Lijiang and Tsesham from Shangri-la. We spent more time in Lijiang and Shangri-la so we had more time with our guides there. They are truly the experts of their respective cultures, they are attentive, insightful, very kind, and encouraging. We had so much fun! Thank you for making our holiday in China feel special and memorable.

Tripadvisor score Fantastic experience

May 2026

Cannot say enough about this tour. Booking was incredible easy, communication, fantastic we had the great guides, including Lee in Beijing, Helen in Xi’an, Tracy in Chengdu, and John in Shanghai. Everyone was ineligible and brought you perspective. Everything was arranged perfectly, including in country, airfare and high-speed rail we elected five star hotels, and we were not disappointed. I would highly recommend this company.

Tripadvisor score Amazingly organised tours with incredible people

Apr 2026 • Couples

Booked back to back tours through China to visit the must see places people always talk about. First tour for 10 days covered Beijing (included Tiananmen Square, Forbidden City and Mutianyu Great Wall), Xian (Terracotta Army), Zhangjajie (visit the national forest via Bailong Elevator and Tianmen Mountain) and ended in Shanghai (The Bund and Yuyuan Garden). Next tour commenced a couple of days later visiting Chengdu (can't miss the Pandas) and Lhasa in Tibet (including Drepung and Sera Monasteries and Potala Palace). Guides are all fantastic. Thank you Jessica, Chris, Cindy, Lucy, Raymond and Tashi for making it such a memorable trip. So much more to see and will have to have another visit. Some hiccups with flights (delayed departures, cancellations due to bad weather) but through it all Lora was there to help find emergency accommodation and re-book flights (and thank you to Lucy and Tashi who had to deal with 2:00am flights and returns to airports when flight couldn't land). If our experience with China Tours is indicative of the service they provide then I have nothing but admiration for the organisation.

Apr 2026 • Couples

We spent extraordinary two days in Xi’an organized by China Tours. Our guide, Mervyn, was the best. Her knowledge of the city and each historical site was amazing. She helped us maximize the limited time we had in Xi'an. Highly recommend Mervyn to anyone visiting Xi'an. ChinaTours did a fabulous job organizing wonderful tour guides and drivers n each city. If you are considering a trip to China, work with China Tours. You won't regret it.

Tripadvisor score Hectic trip but so well organised!

Apr 2026 • Couples

What a wonderful trip! I found China Tours and told them the places I'd most like to go to and things that I'd like to do! They organised it into an itinerary, booking guides and drivers for us at every place. We always felt looked after when arriving at a new airport or station, no panicking as to where to find our way! The guides were all very different: age personalities etc, but all very knowledgeable, friendly and adaptable to our requests! They had the tricks of the trade for getting us ahead in queues etc...a valuable resource in China!! But also the fact that all our park & site entrances were already purchased made each visit a seamless hassle free pleasure. The hotels booked for us were nearly all 5 star with great locations and amenities. Hard to fault the services of China Tours! They helped us through a last day panic when our return flight had been changed, phoning airports and airlines to try snd sort out the problem...I wouldn't have known where to start! We probably tried to fit too much into the time, but we had a brilliant holiday.

Tripadvisor score Epic tour, exceeded expectations

April 2026

We planned a 2 week trip, 5 cities, 3-day Yangtze cruise, and mountains / forest national park. Our tour planner, Dora, was super flexible and helpful in building the itinerary to meet all our desires (via WeChat). The execution was perfect, with English speaking local guides at every city. Choosing a private tour worked great for us given everything we wanted to do. And we did more, besides planned top attractions (Great Wall, Terracotta Warriors, temples, etc), we added a show, a cave with underground River and managed to do some shopping (note: ours was a NO shopping tour by design). All local guides were great, knowledgeable, kind and helpful. Special Kudos to Vivienne (Zhangjiajie) for climbing 999 steps with at Tianmen Cave. We loved our trip and fully recommend China Tours.

They offered suggestions for me to explore Chengdu on my own in the evening. Overall, I had a fantastic experience with China Tours and would highly recommend them to others. Special thank you to Martha at the office and Robert the tour guide at Chengdu
