Hohhot means "Blue City" in Mongolian language. It is the capital city of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. Serving as the political, economic and cultural center of the region, it is a famous historical and cultural city in North China. Covering an area of 17,224 square kilometers, it has been an important habitation for nomadic people since ancient times.
