Day 1 Arrive in Shanghai

You will be picked up according to your flight schedule and transferred to the hotel by an air-conditioned vehicle.

Day 2 Shanghai

After a sound night's sleep, refreshed and start your exploration of Shanghai first with a visit to the Shanghai Museum, a massive museum housing over 140,000 pieces of artifacts, and displaying the history and cultural scene of Shanghai. Afterwards take a walk at The Bund, the most prestigious landmark and best-preserved demonstration to the glamour of the old Shanghai. The peaceful Huangpu River running peacefully next to you with numerous skyscrapers and exotic old buildings around is the typical view of the bund.

Then take a walk through Nanjing Road, the busiest shopping area in the metropolis or even across the whole China. After lunch, visit Yuyuan Garden, where you can marvel at the stunning view of the garden and enjoy a local experience by strolling around the nearby Chenghuang Miao bazaars, where you can try to act like locals to bargain a little with the shop owners to get some fun and cute local crafts.

Drive to New Spot (XinTianDi), a new popular business area in Shanghai where you will be able to see the old traditional Shanghai buildings with modern insides. Wandering through this area, you will feel you get back to old Shanghai in 1920s. Yet walking into each building will drag you back in this modern new world. (B)

Note: Shanghai Museum is closed to public on Mondays, then Shanghai History Museum will be arranged on the day instead.

Day 3 Shanghai-Suzhou-Shanghai

In the morning, you will drive to beautiful Suzhou to enjoy the exquisite Master of the Nets Garden. As one of the four most prominent gardens in Suzhou, the Master of the Nests Garden was built back in 1174 and occupies an area of approximately 6,700sqm now. The Garden is a typical private house owned by several great Chinese scholars in different dynasties so besides the gorgeous view of the well-designed traditional garden with strange stones, peaceful lakes and beautiful flowers, you will also see stone tablets with these scholars’ poems and articles.

Then travel to Tongli , a dreamy and picturesque water town famed for its sprawling network of rivers, ancient bridges and house complexes. Stroll along the old residential houses by the water; try some local snacks and tea, cross the ancient well preserved bridge over the river and appreciate the brick carvings especially famous here in Tongli. Enjoy your peaceful time with your guide and hear the hidden gems of the peaceful water town. Afterwards, drive back to Shanghai.(B)

Day 4 Departure from Shanghai

Your tour guide will pick you up at the hotel and drive you to the airport for your homeward flight. (B)
