In the morning, your guide and driver will wait for you at the hotel lobby. Pick you up and head to the first destination – Eastern Qing Tombs. It is the largest and best-preserved royal mausoleum of Qing Dynasty, even surpassing the Ming Tombs in scale.

After lunch, a-half-an-hour drive takes you to a small village near Huangya Pass where we start trekking. Huangya Pass, a small section of great wall located in the center of the Yanshan Mountain, has more than 1400 years of history. After two repairs, it is now receiving tourists from the rest of the world. The most appealing part is “Heaven’s Ladder” which is a sheer ladder with 200 stairs leading to the summit of this section.

This section of the wall connected with Simatai Great Wall in the east and with Mutianyu Great Wall in the west. Standing on it, you can overlook spectacular scenery – rolling mountains hovered by mist and slight clouds.

Beijing Jinshanling Great Wall

Down to the foot of Jinshanling Great Wall, you are going to have a Chinese meal at local restaurant. Then, take a short drive to Wohushan Great Wall, as a west part of Gubeikou Great Wall. It features its precipitous geography. Extreme landforms lead the wall like two vivid tigers, so-called Wohu (crouching tigers). Over hundreds of years, the wall has been deteriorated by war and natural disasters without renovation. Therefore, it becomes the most appealing and original section of the Great Wall of China. However, there is few tourists set foot in here.

Stay overnight in the hostel at the bottom of Jinshanling itself (two persons per room, with private washroom).

Huanghuacheng is named after yellow wildflowers blossom in the turns of spring and summer which enliven the ancient Wall. Unlike other great walls, this section is embraced by lush vegetation and a reservoir which was built in 1974. When water level rose, seeing from the dam of the reservoir, some portions of the Walls run into the reservoir swallowed by the peaceful water.
