Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

Depending on your time of arrival, your private guide will be ready to greet you and take you to the pre-booked hotel. The rest of the day is free to your own arrangement.

Good to know: If arriving early, you can explore the city on your own. Perhaps get a taste of modern Beijing at nearby Wangfujing Street. Or you can just recover from jet-lag with a good rest at hotel.

Day 2Beijing (B)

 Forbidden City

Initially start the exploration of Beijing from the grand Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world which has borne witness to many of China’s significant events. Leisurely stroll around this massive square before being guided to Forbidden City, the best-preserved imperial palace complex where you will be provided a real glimpse into the royal life of Chinese imperial family and grand architectures with yellow-tiled roofs and colorful paintings and carvings.

Afterwards, take you to the luxury imperial garden Summer Palace which once served as the summer retreat for emperors and the retinues. Here you can enjoy a relaxing walking exploration around the surrounding palaces, pavilions, bridges and corridors etc. Then back to the hotel.

Day 3 Beijing (B)

The highlights today from the two hours' drive to the majestic Mutianyu Great Wall. It is a less touristy section offering you breathtaking scenery and amazing photo opportunities. A round trip cable car is available to transfer you up and down the mountain.

On the way back, make a photo stop at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube. Then, proceed to Hutong areas where a rickshaw ride will take you to experience old Beijing neighborhoods through the narrow alleys.

Day 4 Beijing – Xian (B)

Temple of Heaven Hutong

Get up early for a visit to the stunning ancient Temple of Heaven. Besides the marvelous architectures, it is also a favorite morning gathering place for elderly locals doing various light physical exercises like Tai Chi, traditional dancing and singing, etc. You can either wander around or try to join them.

After that, take you to the railway station for a five hours' experience of the high-speed rail train to Xian. Feel free to relax and admire the countryside scenery along the way. Your guide in Xian will be ready to pick you up from the railway station and drive you to the downtown located hotel.

Day 5 Xian (B)

 Terra-cotta Warriors

Drive about 1 hour to get to the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses, where endless rows of life-sized soldiers, horses have being standing in real battle formations since Qin Dynasty. Afterwards, drive back to downtown for the Ancient City Wall. Listen as your guide shares its history and admire the surrounding city views.

Head to the Great Mosque, one of the oldest mosques in China. Most of the current structures here are of Ming and Qing styles which have been influenced by Islamic architectures. Around the Great Mosque is the Muslim Street, which is a popular destination for sampling authentic local food and souvenir shopping.

Take a photography stop at Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square before returning to hotel.

Day 6 Xian – Zhangjiajie (B)

City Wall Bell & Drum Tower Square

Moring is free for you to enjoy a sound sleep or strolling around the hotel. In the afternoon, commence the trip to Xian Museum and the famous Small Wild Goose Pagoda. Enjoy the historic atmosphere while walking around the park. Featuring traditional Chinese architecture style, the pagoda has stood still for centuries, and is the biggest highlight of the museum. Then, you will be driven to the airport for flight to Zhangjiajie.

Day 7 Zhangjiajie (B)

Enjoy breakfast at your hotel, and then start your exploration with a short drive to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park which is famous for pillar-like peaks and awe-inspiring natural landform. Upon arrival, take the shuttle bus to get to Bailong Elevator (the highest and fastest glass elevator in the world being built into the cliff of mountain), by which you will conveniently ascend to Yuanjiajie Scenic Area where you can explore the prototype of "Hallelujah Mountains"in the film Avatar, cross the "No.1 Bridge under Heaven" (an inartificial stone bridge hanging between two peaks), etc. Then, catch a shuttle bus to Tianzi Mountain for a panoramic view of the grotesque peaks and valleys, and wonderful photo opportunities. You can arrange your own lunch on Tianzi Mountain for there are many restaurants and snack stalls available..

Golden Whip Stream Zhangjiajie Ten Miles Gallery

After the lunch break, you will descend the mountain by a cable car. Later, take a shuttle bus to visit the captivating Ten-mile Natural Gallery , where you can take a leisure walk or tram ride to marvel at the misty karst landscape, thick woods, and grotesque rocks.

You will be transferred back to your hotel at the end of the day.

Day 8 Zhangjiajie –Shanghai(B)

After breakfast, you will take a tour to the precipitous Tianmen Mountain. Please prepare yourself to get an intense and breathtaking experience when taking the world's longest cable car to the mountaintop and walking on the glass Sky Walk 1430 meters above the ground.

Then, take the escalator being built through the mountain to get down to the Tianmen Cave which is actually a huge naturally formed hole crossing the cliff of the mountain. It is an ideal place to take pictures of the stunning natural landscape and the 999 steps leading to the foot of the Cave.

Continue to take the escalator to get down to the resting area. Your Tianmen Mountain trip concludes after a shuttle bus ride to the parking lot.

At the end of the day, you will be transferred to the airport for departing flight.(B).

Day 9 Shanghai (B)

Start exploration of Shanghai first with a visit to the massive Shanghai Museum which is displaying the history and cultural scene of the city. Take a walk at The Bund , the most prestigious landmark and best-preserved demonstration to the glamour of the old Shanghai. Walk through Nanjing Road to experience the busiest shopping area in the metropolis.

Bund New Spot

Visit Yuyuan Garden and enjoy a local experience by strolling around the nearby Chenghuang Miao bazaars, where you can try to act like locals to bargain a little to get some fun local crafts.

Drive to New Spot(XinTianDi) , a new comer business area where you will be able to see the traditional buildings in 1920s with modern decoration inside.

Note: Shanghai Museum is closed to public on Mondays, then Shanghai History Museum will be arranged on the day instead.

Day 10 Depart from Shanghai (B)

Your tour ends with a private transfer to the railway station/airport for your departing train/flight.

Good to know: Nearby water towns are nice to enjoy a break from Shanghai. Extending one or two days are enough for the water town tour. If interested and time permits, please ask your travel consultant for details and costs.
