Day 1 Arrive in Beijing

Depending on your time of arrival, your private guide will be ready to greet you and transfer you to the pre-booked hotel. The rest day is yours to relax or explore this historical capital before our real exciting tour.

Day 2 Beijing (B)

Summer Palace Tiananmen Square

Start your exploration in Beijing with Tiananmen Square, the largest city square in the world which has borne witness to many of China’s significant events. Take a leisure stroll around this massive square for some great photos before being guided to the nearby Forbidden City the best-preserved imperial palace complex where you will be introduced to the luxury life of Chinese imperial family and grand architectures with yellow-tiled roofs and colorful paintings and carvings.

Afterwards, a short drive will take you to the Summer Palace – a luxury royal garden once served as the summer retreat for emperors and their retinues. Here you can enjoy a comfortable stroll and exploration around the surrounding palaces, pavilions, towers, bridges, corridors and fantastic natural beauties.

It is time to return to your hotel after the visit at Summer Palace.

Day 3 Beijing (B)

The highlights today are a visit to the astonishing Mutianyu Great Wall and the hutong traveling.

Great Wall

After picking you up at your hotel, a two hours' drive will take you to the Mutianyu Great Wall, a less touristy section which will offer you breathtaking scenery and amazing photo opportunities. A round trip cable car is available to transfer you up and down the mountain, so you have more time and energy to enjoy the hiking trip on the most authentic part of the Wall.

On the way back to downtown Beijing, you will make a stop at the Bird's Nest and Water Cube for some souvenir photos.

Then, proceed to the Hutong areas where a rickshaw ride will take you past rows of traditional walled courtyards and experience the centuries-old life and neighborhood of Old Beijing.

Day 4 Beijing – Luoyang (B)

Today, get up early for a visit to the iconic Temple of Heaven. Besides the stunning ancient architectures, it is also a favorite morning gathering place for middle-aged or elderly locals who are used to get there at about 7:30am and do various light physical exercises like Tai Chi, traditional dancing and singing, etc. You can either wander around and watch, or try to join them.

Afterwards, you will be driven to the railway station for a four hours' experience of the high-speed rail train to Luoyang. Your guide in Luoyang will be ready to greet you upon arriving at the railway station, and transfer you to the hotel for check-in.

The rest time is for you to relax or explore freely.

Day 5 Luoyang (B)

Today’s trip will cover two Buddhist heritage sites of Luoyang.

Longmen Grottoes

After breakfast, you will start your tour in Luoyang by visiting the prominent Longmen Grottoes, a marvel of Buddhist art, where you will be shocked by the cluster of over 100,000 Buddhist sculptures and countless artifacts stretching over 1,000 meters along both sides of Yi River,

Good to know:
A round trip battery car will transfer you from the grottoes to the parking lot.
There is also an optional chance for you to take a short cruise on the Yi River to admire the cave-temples and Buddhist statues and take some great photos at a distance.

Your Longmen Grottoes tour will be followed by a visit to the White Horse Temple. Being hailed as the cradle of China’s Buddhism, it highlights many traditional palaces of Ming (1368AD – 1644AD) and Qing (1644AD – 1912AD) Dynasties with high, red walls and large yellow tile roofs. The hundreds of precious Buddhist statues here will also merit your exploration, especially the statue of eighteen arhats in Main Hall, which is produced with a unique technology dating back to the Warring States Periods (475BC – 221BC).

After the end of the tour, you will be transferred to Dengfeng where a 1-hour Kungfu class is waiting for you. You might expect the exciting Kungfu performance in Shaolin Temple more after learning some easy movements.

Stay overnight in Dengfeng and get ready for the next day’s visit to Shaolin Temple.

Day 6 Luoyang – Xian (B)

Kung Fu Performance

Head for Shaolin Temple after the breakfast in your hotel. Being first built in the Northern Wei Dynasty (386AD – 557AD), the temple has borne witness to the rise and fall of many dynasties. Now, it is a popular destination where you can explore time-honored Buddhist buildings and enjoy the brilliant Shaolin Kungfu performance.

Good to know:
There are five fixed Kungfu performance every day, and each will last about 30 minutes. Your guide may alter the travel sequence in Shaolin Temple according to your arrival time and the performance time.

Then, hop on the coach back to Luoyang for a visit to the Tianzijialiu Museum. You can get an insight into the profound and splendid history of Eastern Zhou Dynasty (770BC – 256BC) from the various significant artifacts on display at the museum. The relics of a more than 2000 years old emperor chariot drawn by six horses is the highlight here that draw most visitors’ special attention.

Later on, you will be transferred to the railway station for your high-speed rail train to Xian taking no more than 2 hours. Feel free to relax and admire the countryside scenery along the way.

Your guide in Xian will be ready to pick you up from the railway station and drive you to the downtown located hotel.

Day 7 Xian (B)

You will easily fall in love with this ancient capital after today’s trip being packed with the most iconic and historic landmarks.

Terracotta Warriors and Horses

In the morning, drive about 1 hour to get to the world famous Terracotta Warriors and Horses, where you will marvel at endless rows of life-sized terracotta and horse sculptures. Your guide will provide an explanation of how these sculptures were buried in Qinshihuang’s mausoleum and describe the history during his reign.

After the sightseeing at Terracotta Warriors and Horses, you will be driven back to downtown Xian for a leisure stroll on top of the Ancient City Wall. Listen as your guide shares its history, explore the architectures of different section and admire the surrounding views below as you are guided to stroll along the walkway.

Next, head to the Great Mosque which is within walking distance. First built in 742AD, it is one of the oldest mosques in China, and most of the current structures here are of Ming and Qing styles which have more or less been influenced by Islamic architectures. Around the Great Mosque is the Muslim Street, which is a great destination for sampling authentic local food and souvenir shopping.

Ancient City Wall Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square

A photography stop at the nearby Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square will follow before returning to your hotel.

Day 8 Depart from Xian (B)

After breakfast, commence today’s trip with a visit to the Xian Museum. One of the most recent attractions in Xian, the museum is multi-functional where you can not only get an insight into the long history of Xian from the over 130,000 pieces of archaeological digs, but also enjoy the historic atmosphere while walking around the park here. The famous Small Wild Goose Pagoda is just located in the park. Featuring traditional Chinese architecture style, the Pagoda has stood still for centuries, and is the biggest highlight of the museum.

After the explorative tour, you will be driven to the airport or railway station for departure flight or train.
