Combining ancient scenic spots in Xian with modernized attractions in Shanghai, the tour subtly demonstrates the highlights of two cities as well as China to you in five days. Day 1 Arrive in Xian

Upon arrival in the airport or railway station, you will be greeted by your travel guide and then transferred to hotel directly. The rest of day is left for you to explore the city freely.

Day 2 Xian (B)

The first stop as well as the highlight of today is Terra-cotta Warriors and Horses, about an hour's drive from downtown Xian. It is a large underground military base as well as a form of funerary art, from which you can feel military strength of Qin dynasty as well as the power of Qin Shi Huang, the first emperor of China.

Get back to city center in the afternoon and enjoy good views of the city on ancient Xian City Wall. The most complete ancient city wall of the nation gives you a full look to historical capital.

Then head to the Great Mosque in the old block of Xian. It is the oldest and biggest Islamic mosque in China which perfectly combined the Islamic and Chinese architectural influences. Later, stroll around the Bell Tower & Drum Tower Square that stands in the city center for hundreds of years. You will get plenty of time to take photos in this iconic Xian landmark.

Day 3 Xian-Shanghai (B)

In the morning, travel to Xian Museum. Besides precious relics, the city garden that being integrated into the museum gives you a good chance to catch the locals doing morning exercise. Explore the significant Buddhist Small Wild Goose Pagoda, which is a national heritage of Tang Dynasty which is still well preserved after earthquakes and discover how such an old Chinese construction can achieve this.

After that, the guide will drive you to the airport to catch the flight heading Shanghai. Upon arrival, the local guide will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel.

Day 4Shanghai(B)

Start exploring the city from Shanghai Museum. With diversified sections like calligraphy, jades, bronze, and ceramics, it will give you an overall look of history and culture of Shanghai.

Then get a chance to feel the glamour of old Shanghai as your guide takes you to the Bund – the most recognizable architecture symbol of the city. Here you can go sightseeing and take a leisure stroll along the spacious walkway. After that, you will hang out on the nearby Nanjing Road to experience prosperous commercial atmosphere of the metropolis.

The tour goes on in Yuyuan Garden. The exquisite layout and beautiful sceneries make it a premier sight of Shanghai. Later, you will take a visit to Chenghuang Miao Bazaars that is within walking distance from Yuyuan Garden. It remains as a very famous food street with many well-known Shanghai local snacks. Take a visit here and experience the local life. Further down, still in walking distance is the New Spot (Xintiandi) , a stylish pedestrian street with up-to-date building styles and a number of restaurants, cafes, and boutiques.

Note: Shanghai Museum is closed to public on Mondays, then Shanghai History Museum will be arranged on the day instead.

Day 5Depart from Shanghai (B)

Today please arrange your own way to the airport for your homeward flight since the group's guests are not having the coordinating agenda after the scheduled tour.
