Sichuan Province overview:  Located at the southwest of China, the upper reaches of Yangtze River, Sichuan Province borders Chongqing in the east, Yunnan and Guizhou Province in the south, Tibet in the west and Qinghai Province, Gansu Province as well as Shaanxi Province in the north. Covering an area of 485,000 square kilometers, the area is the fifth largest in China only next to Xinjiang, Tibet, Inner Mongolia and Qinghai Province. The whole province can be divided into two parts: Sichuan Basin and West Sichuan Highlands. The former one is one of the four largest basins in China. Sichuan Province has a population of 87 million, among which about 44.6 million are ethnic groups and the send largest Tibet zone, the largest Yi Ethnic group and the unique Qiang ethnic group agglomeration located here. Sichuan Province is also called “Hometown of Panda” and there are about 85% pandas in the world living here.  Map of Sichuan Sichuan Province climate & weather:  By the influence of geography and the subtropical climate, the climate in the basin and West Sichuan Highlands is apparently different. The Sichuan Basin belongs to moist subtropical monsoon climate and it has warm winter, dry spring, hot summer and rainy fall and the yearly average temperature is 15℃ to 19℃ with the yearly average rainfall do 13mm to 1800mm. Sichuan is the rainy province in China and it is rainy about 250 to 300 days in the year in Chengdu. Sichuan Province transportation: By Air:  Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport is one of the largest airports in China and there are together eight airports in Sichuan Province, including Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport, Jiuzhaigou Airport, Luzhou Airport, Yibin Airport, Dachuan Airport, Xichang Airport, Nanchong Airport, and Guangyuan Airport. And there are totally more than 150 domestic and international flight routes in Chengdu Shuangliu International Airport and the passenger handling capability is 10 million annually. By Train:  the railway transportation is the main artery to link the cities and regions inside and outside the province. And currently, there are five train routes including Bao (Baoji)-Cheng (Chengdu) Railway formed as well as eight branch railways and four local railways. Bao (Baoji)-Cheng (Chengdu) Complex Line Electrified Railway is the first electrified railway in China and Xiang-Yu Railway was linked to Da-Cheng Railway, which is the important railway between Sichuan Province and Hubei Province. Cheng-Yu Railway liked Prachuap Khiri Khan and it is also the important way from Sichuan Province to Guizhou Province and South China Region. Cheng (Chengdu)-Kun (Kunming) Railway linked Nan-Kung Railway in the south, which is the nearest railway from Chengdu to Beihai. By Bus:  The road transportation in the whole province takes Chengdu as its center and trunk roads as well as branch roads spread densely. The main road trunk roads include Chuan (Sichuan)-Zang (Tibet) Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Qing (Qinghai) Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Long (Longhai) Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Shan (Shaanxi) Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Yu (Chongqing) Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Yun (Yunnan) Eastern Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Yun (Yunnan) Middle Road, Chuan (Sichuan)-Yun (Yunnan) Western Road and Chuan (Sichuan)-Dian (Yunnan) Road. Chengdu Bus Center Passenger Depot is the largest road passenger terminal in Sichuan Province. And the first highway, Cheng (Chengdu)-Yu (Chongqing) Highway is the traffic main artery between Sichuan Province and Chongqing municipality. Sichuan Province Food:  Sichuan cuisine include the cuisine in Chengdu, Chongqing, Leshan, Jinagjin, Zigong and Hechuan and Sichuan cuisine is famous for its “One Dish One Taste, Hundred Dishes Hundred Tastes”. The main feature of Sichuan cuisine is numb and hot and the advanced skills of making seasonings, Sichuan seasons have the taste of sauce for braising fish, litchi, spicy hot, and special hot.    Local delicacies include Shredded Pork with Garlic Sauce, Spicy diced Chicken with Peanuts, Fried Salted Pork, Mapo Tofu (Stir-Fried Tofu in Hot Sauce), Cattle Tripe Chaffy Dish, Braised Beef, Pork Lungs in Chili Sauce, Stewed Thin Beef Slices, Noodles with Fired Bean-Paste Sauce, Tangyuan (Glutinous Rice Balls), and Wan Ton (Wonton) and so on. Major Sichuan Province tourism resources:  The traveling resources in Sichuan Province are the most in China, including the world natural and cultural heritages and national scenery zones. Tourist Attractions:  Sichuan Province has a lot of tourism resources, among which the major attractions are the four-Jiuzhaigou, Huanglong, Leshan Giant Buddha Statue-Emei Mountain and Wolong-are listed on the World Natural and Cultural Heritage Site List and “Human and Nature” Protection Net by UNESCO. Other attractions include Zigong Large Dinosaur Museum, Sanxingdui Remain, Dujiang Weir, Qingcheng Mountain, Gongga Shan, Bamboo Sea in Eastern Sichuan Province, Siguniang Mountain, and Mt Xiling Snow.
