Chongqing has a humid subtropical climate, with the two-season monsoonal variations typical of South Asia. The temperature can be as high as 43°C, with an average high of 35°C in August. As for the best time to visit Chongqing, March to May and September to October are the best time to travel to Chongqing City and Three Gorges. Do avoid the period of muggy weather of summer and foggy winter.
